  • While these units had very little contact with one another, they all took up the banner of the Eridanus Colonial Resistance, a modification of the name of the Eridanus Colonials, some of the first Insurrectionists that fought the UNSC during the planet's colonization. Despite the heavy UNSC presence, the groups that made up the ECR performed a number of attacks, raiding detainment centers holding captured Insurrectionists, assassinating Office of Naval Intelligence and United Nations Space Command, and sowing general chaos. The ECR's actions were the final straw that caused Operation: CLEAN SLATE to be enacted, as ONI feared that, as the ECR broke out Insurrectionists, it would grow greatly, and cause yet another costly battle for the planet. While by 2525 anti-insurgency operations had diminished the ECR, it was still active, and continued to be even after Jacob Jiles replaced Robert Watts, until 2530, when the Covenant glassed the colony.
