The first Pop-Up Wizard of Oz was published by Random House in 1968. "Halfway between a book and a toy," the publication included an abridged version of Baum's text, plus a range of pop-up scenes with optical-illusion tricks and toy figures. This 1968 Random House artifact was only the first of several Oz pop-ups from various manufacturers and publishers. Robert Sabuda's version, published in 2000, is one notable example.
