The 14th Massassi Cohort was a Massassi unit of the Royal Army of the Golden Empire. Raised some time after the Great Liberation, the 14th participated in numerous campaigns for the Empire. During the Nightmare War it remained stationed aboard the Sith Star as an emergency ground operations force. When the flagship was boarded during the Battle of the Sith Star, the 14th fought alongside the Order of Keltrayu and the Royal Marines to repel and defeat the boarding Skavik, Veracht, and Vyrak clones. In the aftermath of the battle, the 14th also assisted in the cleanup of the heavily damaged flagship, and three of its members received the Star of Valor for their heroism in the battle. The 14th was also noted for having great respect for Tekk Draykhan, a Drakonus warrior who died during the battle; the Massassi of the 14th laid Tekk's body among their own dead, a rare honor. The Cohort's commanding officer was killed in the fighting, and Commander Hwurzahk assumed command. One week after the battle was concluded, Prime Legate Sorrik confirmed Hwurzahk's permanent assignment as the Cohort's commander and promoted him to full colonel. Sorrik also awarded the entire cohort the Royal Army Distinguished Unit Ribbon for its actions in the Battle of the Sith Star.
