The News(VFF170) was born on March 26, 2010, in the Frisky. Her mother was the new dominant female Quaver, and her father was probably a rover from the Drie Doring. The News was born with four litter-mates: three brothers named Bad Gandalf(VFM167), Huey Lewis(VFM168), and VFM169, and one sister named Up-Carrot(VFF171). They were Quaver's first litter ever. The pups survived their first few weeks and started foraging with the adults. The Frisky were a good sized group so the pups had a good chance at survival; however, in May, VFM169 was predated. The rest of the litter survived their first five months. Then in August, Quaver gave birth to another litter of three pups. Sadly in March 2011, the month of The New's first birthday, she died from disease along with her brother Huey Lewis and an older uncle named Malkin.
