For most of the time, the marketing manager answered only to the managing director, but this changed with the appointment of a marketing director. Marketing assistants were below the manager and assisted them with day-to-day duties. Gary Bell was the first person to be credited as a marketing manager in Issue 71, although this was fairly short-lived. The position disappeared from the credits and, when it returned in Issue 110, Douglas Pocock was the new manager. He remained in this role until Issue 185, when he was promoted to director. Jon Rissik took over the position of manager for a few issues until the credit disappeared once again.
