Currently undergoing sea trials prior to being approved for active service by the World Government Security Council, the Sentinel is the fastest battleship. It will be spearheading the newly-formed World Navy's fleet of surface vessels, although it was originally designed as a multi-purpose strike vessel to provide rapid response capability in global hot-spots. Gas turbines served by an atomic generator supply the Sentinel with its power. It can remain at sea for eighteen months without maintenance.

  • Commissioned and built in 2064, the Sentinel is the United States Navy's newest and fastest warship, as well as the world's fastest battleship. It is currently undergoing sea trials prior to being approved for active service by the World Government Security Council. Additionally, the Sentinel is also seconded to the World Navy which is instrumental in maintaining global peace. When Thunderbird 2 was mistakenly shot down by the Sentinel, it carried Thunderbird 4 via the Panama Canal from the Pacific to New York after the collapse of the Empire State Building.

  • Currently undergoing sea trials prior to being approved for active service by the World Government Security Council, the Sentinel is the fastest battleship. Armaments include Lynx missiles and forward and amidships mounted artillery cannons (4.5 inch). A complement of four VTOL strike aircraft developed from the Arrowhead WASP interceptors can be launched from forward mounted catapult ramps, and additional support vehicles include two helijets and a range of tactical deployment drones. The Sentinel is also fitted with steam turbine powered manoeuvring aquajets, and an underwater hull stabilizing strake on the forward port side. Crew living quarters include medical bay, canteen, recreation facilities, air crew quarters and the officers' mess. Other sections include the stern-positioned bridge, flight control, an operations centre, an Electronic Warfare control room, and a communications centre. Below decks include an engineering deck, hangars for both tactical deployment drones and U.S. Navy combat aircraft.
Originally designed by the U.S. Navy as a multi-purpose strike vessel to provide rapid response capability in global hot-spots, the Sentinel will spearhead the newly-formed World Navy's fleet of surface vessels. The craft is powered by means of twin gas turbines served by an atomic generator and is capable of remaining at sea for eighteen months without maintenance. A minimum crew of two can command the Sentinel in combat operations. There are three manoeuvring aquajets enabling the vessel to steer more accurately: one is situated at the bow and two at the stern. Each is powered by a steam turbine. Along with the reactor, the missile and storage area is the most armoured part of the ship. Features include a subsidiary control room, communications centre, engineering deck, canteen, medical bay, flight control, air crew quarters, recreational facilities, crew living quarters, conference centre, Electronic Warfare control room, lifeboat/launch davit sonar and radar tracking stations, and an officers' mess. Atop the bridge is a search radar, satellite communications antennae, and UHF antenna. Armaments include Lynx Seven surface to air missiles, a forward 4.5 inch twin gun turret, and a port 4.5 inch gun turret. A complement of four VTOL Strike aircraft developed from the Arrowhead WASP Interceptors can be launched from forward-mounted catapult ramps, and additional support vehicles include two helijets and a range of tactical deployment drones. Its stern-mounted bridge enables clear visual monitoring of arsenal deployment. The Sentinel can carry up to 15 vertical take off and landing jet aircraft. Forward aircraft lifts incorporate a steam-powered catapult system to launch jet fighters, providing the armoured jet fighter launch bay hangar door has been opened. Aircraft maintenance bays and lifts for VTOL jet fighters are situated inside the hangar deck. The landing bay armoured outer hatches are used when aircraft lifts are not in operation. Vertical take off and landing jet aircraft can also be launched by means of a catapult via a port armoured aircraft launch bay door. When Thunderbird 2 was mistakenly shot down by the Sentinel, it carried Thunderbird 4 via the Panama Canal from the Pacific to New York after the collapse of the Empire State Building. U.S.N. Sentinel commissioned: Jan 2064 Length: 720 feet Beam: 98 feet Displacement: 51,270 tons Power: three steam turbines Speed: 200 knots
