One the builders working on the job was unscrupulous and wily Pat Phelan who, with his own experience of managing building projects, found out that Ron was billing Kevin for more materials than he was actually using and told Jason who advised Kevin that they would keep an eye on him and look after his interests. After Sophie Webster found more dodgy invoices and evidence that the labour charges were being overstated, Ron was sacked from the job and Jason given the contract instead.
