The Imperial Survey Corps was a division of the Imperial Armed Forces responsible for space exploration, succeeding the Exploration Corps of the Galactic Republic. Much of the personnel ended up being drafted into the Imperial Navy, giving the ISC manpower shortages. When the Alliance to Restore the Republic declared war on the Galactic Empire, the ISC was used to look for Rebel bases. By the time of the Battle of Endor, the Corps had lost many members and was merged with the Navy by the Imperial Remnant.
