Ostfront aka Modified Ostfront by Andreas Seidel was an early user-made campaign, using the SSI Blitzkrieg concept but was entirely set on the Eastern Front. The original version used only a minimum of user-made maps and it was a popular campaign for those players that wanted to play a limited number of scenarios but still experience the Blitzkrieg feeling. The modified version of the campaign is a "modernized" version with reworked scenarios and some scenarios added You play as Germany and start out attacking Russia in 1942 but you will end up having to defend Germany in 1945.
