Special Forces Operations Division (or SFOD) was a division within the Galactic Republic military. While officially existing as to further reinforce the defenses of the Republic, it had many Black Ops squads that were off the book and reported directly to the Supreme Chancellor. During the Cold War and the Second Great Galactic War, this division was headed by General Elin Garza. Several Special Forces units, including Havoc Squad, fell under this division's direct command and ARCA Branch.

While officially existing as to further reinforce the defenses of the Republic, it had many Black Ops squads that were off the book and reported directly to the Supreme Chancellor. During the Cold War and the Second Great Galactic War, this division was headed by General Elin Garza. Several Special Forces units, including Havoc Squad, fell under this division's direct command and ARCA Branch. SFOD would play an important role during the Dread Master crisis and the multitude of battles coming after it, often operating closely together with the Jedi Order. One notorious squad, apart from Havoc Squad, that operated during this time was ARCA Team 1, which would first see action on Asation when the planet was overrun by Dread Master forces and creatures coming from the Gree Hypergate.
