The inventor, Rhino Neil, persists and leads them to the Paradise Dome, a simulator that produces an authentic beach experience. Amy Rose leads the other heroes inside, but Sonic isn't interested and speeds away. Rhino Neil is less than impressed, calling Sonic a "spikeball".

On the beach, Tails is building a sandcastle, Amy and Johnny Lightfoot are playing with a ball and Porker Lewis is simply sunbathing. However, the artificial sunlight starts getting too intense, roasting the heroes alive. Outside, Sonic is irked by Rhino Neil until he suddenly realises who the only person is that calls him 'spikeball'. Certain that his friends have fallen into a trap, Sonic rushes back to the Paradise Dome. Sure enough, the exotic vacation is interrupted by the appearance of several EggRobos. Unfortunately, Johnny's staff has no effect and Amy's crossbow bolts simply bounce off the invincible robots. Robotnik's fun is interrupted when Sonic arrives, prompting him to climb in his Egg-o-Matic. Before the dictator can fire off all his weapons, Sonic uses a Sonic-Cyclone to knock him out of the ship. With the Freedom Fighters surrounded on the beach, they are soon saved when Sonic bursts through the wall and disrupts the program. Sonic reveals that the Badniks were solid light holograms that were switched off when Sonic broke the circuit. He also pledges that every day will be a holiday once Robotnik is defeated.
