Previous Chapter: Another Transfer and a Deadly Encounter | Next Chapter: Evolve Itoyuu High was restless as normal as it usually was, though Klara had learned to tune it out. As she passed by the various boys in the hall they all watched her, another thing she'd learned to tune out, though this had come to her much earlier on in her life. Smirking slightly she shook her head slightly, causing her hair to toss about, drawing even more attention. Though she didn't like to admit it she did find enjoyment from people fawning over her. As she neared her classroom she slowed to a stop, thinking. She had been unable to use her Seduction against Clyde, which alone irked her. To top it off she'd realized that the blond was the one that drew her to the area, meaning the feast she'd been sidetracked

To top it off she'd realized that the blond was the one that drew her to the area, meaning the feast she'd been sidetracked for was unable to be manipulated into doing as she said. Sighing she opened the door and bounded in, keeping up the ruse of being an airhead. "Sorry I'm late~" As she spoke she realized that her "lunch" was missing. "Where's Clyde?' "He said he wasn't feeling too good and that he would be staying home." Klara jumped and turned around to see the teacher standing behind her. Rubbing the back of her head she quickly found her seat and tried to look small. As class began she found herself zoning out. Though she didn't look it she was probably older than everyone else in the room, and she'd learned most of the stuff they were going over before anyways. Really, the only reason she was here in the first place was because Clyde's soul was so powerful. When the school day was finally over Klara went over to the teacher, an idea forming. "Um, Mrs. Yuki? Since Clyde missed school today shouldn't someone take him the work he missed? I'd be willing to do it." "Is that so? Well, alright then. Here, I'll go get you his address" ~ ~ ~ "That was to easy...something tells me I shouldn't have been given his address, but now that I know where he lives..." As Klara trailed off she realized that she'd found herself at a somewhat shabby looking apartment complex. This confused her, as if CLyde was a transfer student he should be living with a family. Deciding to question him later she quickly began climbing the stairs to find the correct room. Once she found it she gave the door a light knock. Hearing shuffling behind it a minute later the door cracked open, Clyde's face peering through the crack. "...Why are you here?" "Would you believe that I'm brining you homework?" Klara motioned to the papers in her hand. "You're the whole reason I'm in this town. Your soul radiates as being particularly delicious after all." "...Come in." Clyde stepped back and threw the door open. His apartment was a mess, clothes and dishes everywhere. Clyde himself looked rather worse for wear, covered in nicks and bruises, as if he'd been in a fight. His left leg in particular seemed hurt, as he had a slight limp. Klara walked in and looked around for a clean place to sit before decided she'd be better off standing. The blond himself sat on a rather tattered looking couch and gazed at her. "Let me ask the obvious" The redhead began "What happened to you?" "I've been fighting Hellspawn. Hollow as you called them. You're saying you didn't noticed how patched up I've been the past week?" he shook his head. "Last night one of them got me good and hurt my leg so I've been resting..." Clyde's voice trailed off as he looked out the window. Curious Klara glanced herself and didn't see anything, and when she turned back to the blond his eyes were on her once again. After a brief awkward silence she threw the papers on a table and turned to leave. "...Don't get yourself killed." Klara left the apartment an closed the door behind her, a light blush gracing her face. Shaking her head to snap herself out of it she ran down the stairs and left the apartment complex. Walking along the sidewalk she couldn't help but feel uneasy, as if something was about to happen. Unable to shake said feeling she lost track of where she was going and found herself at the part. Looking around for a moment she realized she wasn't alone. Quickly turning around she saw an older woman with long blonde hair walk past her. The woman met Klara's gaze and smiled, however the Bount could tell it was fake. What disturbed her the most was that the blonde woman had a large tattoo of the Kanji for Death on her exposed back. Shivering she felt as though she was lucky to be alive. ~ ~ ~ Clyde knew he needed to rest properly, however he couldn't let the Hellspawn roam free. Getting dressed and bandaging himself he hit himself in the leg to try and get rid of his limp. When it didn't go away he hung his head, cursing his stupidity for thinking that would work. Moving as quickly as he could he began patrolling the quiter areas of the city, hoping it would be quiet for once. Sensing a presence he sighed. Of course, it would never be that easy. Quickly turning around he saw a large Hellspawn suddenly launch out of an alleyway into the ground. Briefly confused he saw a figure clad in black charge forwards with a katana. One of the Reapers, or as they preferred to call themselves, Shinigami. Not waisting time he held out his hand and manifested his bow. Taking aim he let fly an arrow that pierced a crack in the demon's mask, killing it instantly and causing it to dissolve into dust. The Shinigami seemed confused but then he realized that Clyde was there. "You...what did you do!?" the Shinigami was furious. "What? I killed the damn thing!" "Exactly! You killed it! Do you know anything about the Hollow!?" "W-what?" "If you kill them they cease to exist! They're corrupted human souls that we cleans with our Zanpakuto, if they fall to anything else they simply cease to be!" "...You mean...that every time I've...killed one of those I've...erased a human soul from existence...?" Clyde fell to his knees. "W-what...? I thought...I was saving people...but I...I..." Just then a large booming sound reverberated throughout the city. After the noise quieted down a large black hole tore itself open in the sky. The Shinigami stared in disbelief as countless white faced beings poured out of it. Clyde barely noticed. "What in the world...? An invasion...?" The Shinigami hesitated for a moment as he glanced at Clyde. "Sorry kid" The black clad man disappeared with a swooshing sound, leaving Clyde to himself. The blond held his bow at arms length and looked at it in disbelief. Memories of everything he'd gone through to master his powers, everything his Father had taught him. The fact it was all for naught was to much. In a fit of anger he threw the bow to the ground, causing it to skid along and stop as it hit someone's foot. "I've been searching for you. I'm glad we can meet once more Dark One." END
