During the times of Gopal Dynasty, Nepal was part of India for 621 years. The first hindu King of the Gopal dynasty was Bhuktaman and he was selected by Ne-Muni (A muni is a Hindu sadhu/sage) to be the ruler of the Kathmandu valley. As a matter of fact Nepal is named after this Hindu sage "Ne". "Pal" comes from Sanskrit word pala which means protector. Ne-pal in etymology means "protected by Ne'. The last king of the Gopal Dynasty was Yakshya Gupta.
