  • The Republic of New Ireland, also known as New Ireland or incorrectly referred to as Ireland, is an island nation located in the northern Pacific Ocean, about XX miles from the continent of North America. The nation is comprised of two main islands: Éire and the smaller Tuaisceart Éireann, as well as the Celtic Islands located off the west coast of Éire. Discovered by Irish explorer George Symons in 1763, the two major islands were first settled in 17__ when the British established their first colony. New Ireland became an independent nation in 18__, but remained a dominion of the British Empire until 1931, when the Statute of Westminister was passed by the British Parliament. However, New Ireland remains a member of the Commonwealth and works closely with Canada, Australia and New Zealand over issues in the Pacific Ocean.
