The Two Year Resource War (12 September 2035 - 20 November 2037) was a short war between the European Union, Russia, and Saudi-Arabia, each on their own side. The main reason for the war was the fact that Russia and Saudi-Arabia stopped exporting oil after the last drops of oil were depleted in August of 2035. The war went on from September 2035 to November of 2037, when Saudi-Arabia's main reserve facility was burned to the ground. Following the events of the war, most of Europe merged into one unified country, called the European Union, in December 2040.
