  • Although Elder Jensen practiced law, specializing in business and estate planning, he did so to support the family farm. “I love farming and life on a farm, so I practice law in order to be able to live this way,” he confesses. [1] Elder Jensen was born in Huntsville, Utah, on 18 May 1942 to Keith Grow and Lula Hill Jensen. At age 28 he was called as the bishop of the Huntsville ward where his father and grandfather had also served. Later, he served as a priests quorum adviser, then as a stake president, and most recently as a Regional Representative, before his call to the Seventy. After serving in the First Quorum of the Seventy for nine years, on August 15, 1998, Elder Jensen was called to the Presidency of the Seventy. He served in the Presidency until released in June of 2001. He has served in the First Quorum as a member of the Area Presidency of the Europe Central Area. He has been the nineteenth official Church Historian and Recorder of the Church since 2005. [2] Elder Jensen has also served as the mission president in the New York Rochester Mission of the Church, and as the general president of the Church's Sunday School. In 1995, Jensen became a member of the Church's Public Affairs Committee. Elder Jensen graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in German. He obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Utah College of Law in 1970, graduating first in his class. After returning from his mission to West Germany in 1964, Jensen met Kathleen Bushnell on a blind date while he was attending BYU and she was attending Utah State University. They married 9 June 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they have eight children — six daughters and two sons.
