Rusty Russell is an Australian open-source software programmer and advocate. He is a Linux-kernel programmer, as well one of the developers for The Battle for Wesnoth. Russell also tweaked Heir to the Throne to create a gender-switched variant add-on, Heiress to the Throne. It switched the roles of Konrad and Li'sar, and replaced Queen Asheviere with a male tyrant. It includes two scenarios that would later be cut from the main campaign, Mountain Pass and The Valley of Statues.
