御殿場市, Gotemba-shi (sometimes Gotenba), is a city located on the southeastern flank of Mt. Fuji in Shizuoka, Japan. As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 88,054 and the density of 452 persons per km². The total area is 194.63 km². It's not a huge city, but it's also not in the middle of nowhere. It's in a good location, right at the base of Mount Fuji, with great access to lots of other areas nearby as well. The weather in Gotemba is mild and pleasant.
