| - Sunday 11th of April.20:00 (RT).Wyrmrest Temple. This event is a large feast, including story-telling and short speeches, to commemorate those who fell in the war with the Lich King and to celebrate our triumph over the Scourge. "The War is slipping from the memory of those who sought blood on these shores. In the North. The haunted silence of peace begins to fall upon the frozen realm at last.To the South. A new war shall shudder awake, born from old hatreds of ages past." - Nishera the Garden Keeper to Lord Itharius. Content:- Short introductory story.- In-Character information.- Out-of-Character information. The cloaked figure walked calmly from the wide landing into the sanctuary of Dalaran, nodding at a cluster of chattering Magi as he passed. Robed in a ruby gown, which shimmered beneath the growing strength of the dawn, he made his graceful way into the centre of the city. Proudly Torastrasza stood at last before the new monument: magnificent - but not quite enough. The brash front of iron and bronze, the dull glitter of gold and steel, they could hardly speak for the lives lost to the cold maw of death. The tall elf smoothed his fluttering raiment with a stroke of his hand, bejewelled with crimson stars. He sighed, pulled the scarlet hood tighter round his slim face and turned away from the statue. He passed back through the city - now so empty of those savage adventurers which had flooded the tidy streets. These streets now softly waited for the coming dawn to stir the slumbering city to life once more. At the landing once more, Torastrasza burst from the illusion, springing into the air as the robe billowed to blossom as broad wings and scarlet scales, gleaming at last in the morning light. For months the city of Dalaran had never felt the warmth of a free sun spill out from the west. Always the shadow had loomed there, and only a faltering gleam of hope would reach out from the eastern hills. But on this morning as a dragon tore away from the cobbled home of the Violet Citadel, no clouds emerged to envelop that rising grace or beat back that hopeful dawn. And as the drake glanced back a first and final time back upon the city, which rested crisply in the now clear sky, a single impulse drove him back to Wyrmrest: They would be called. They would remember.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Bold posters have been placed in Dalaran, Orgrimmar and Stormwind.* HONOUR THE FALLEN.On the 11th of the next cycle, at dusk, a gathering is called at Wyrmrest Temple. All of you fought in the North, all of you who fight still the wicked Scourge, all of you who have lost love to the great evil - now banished, come and honour those who fell. - Stories of the many battles shall be shared.- Speeches shall be made in honour of those fallen.- A sombre victory feast shall follow, the cost of which was paid with their blood. The victory shall be nothing, if we do not gather to remember, to honour and to celebrate at last. Meet with us and bless the memory of this terrible conflict,The Accord.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a cross-factional event to officially bring a close to the War with the Lich King. It's intentionally kept in a very open format. For those of you familiar with these events, it's effectively a solemn "Fish'n'Bake"... Without any fish... The idea is to gather as many Role-players as possible in the central chamber of Wyrmrest to remember the fallen of the war in the north. - Once gathered each faction shall share tales of the battles fought in the north.- A few speeches might follow, about those lost and to commemorate the victory.- And finally a feast shall be shared to celebrate the defeat of the Lich King*. If enough attend small groups from each faction may go to the Wrathgate, to honour those who fell at that great battle. And, finally, the Apothecarium shall officially 'apologise' for the betrayal of Putress & for the actions of Darsolenew (both of whom are now dead!) The idea is that this shall bring a close to all the epic-RP based in Northrend, the Warsong Defensive being a major example. Of course, RP "up there" can still continue, since fresh adventures always appear! But I just thought this would be a nice way to In-Character-ly begin to round off the expansion.
* You may have noticed I have yet to explicitly mention "the Lich King is dead!". I don't really want to start that argument off again. This is, therefore, more of a general celebration of victory across Northrend, and not directly related to his death, though that might be a part of it for most of you. Who's in charge?Well since the event is very open, nobody will be "leading" much of it once it begins. But if you have questions please contact Terrafros for the Alliance side, and Vraenesha for the Horde side.I'll be offline personally until the 31st of March, and then I'll be around if clarification is still needed. Who can attend? ANYONE! I've intentionally kept this all very open. So most characters should have -some- reason for attending. Did you fight in the north? Did you loose someone to the Scourge? Do you hate the Lich King? Do you love Dragon's? Do you love drink? All of these are valid enough reasons, some obviously slightly better than others! What now? Just be ready for summons to Wyrmrest on the 11th! And bring plenty of friends/food! Spread the news and prepare a speech or a story or both. This is a great chance to really give Northrend an epic send-off!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
