The Animal Barrel is a type of barrel that first appeared in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Whenever the player jumps into one of these, they will transform into a type of Animal Buddy. There is a picture with an Animal Buddy on it, depending on which Animal Buddy the monkeys shall turn into. The monkeys turn back to the old selves once passing a No Animal Sign. When in the barrel, a monkey can use the Animal Buddy to get a DK Barrel to help the other monkey and gain an extra hit point.
