The Type-108 "Super Tyrant" is a weapon that is mounted on Covenant ships and ground fortifications and is very effective against ground vehicles, useful for orbital bombardment, and for ship-to-ship warfare. An area effect weapon that consists of two Tyrant turrets mounted together, it possesses a far better firing rate than the original Tyrant, along with providing a higher damage output. An area effect weapon that consists of two Tyrant turrets mounted together, it possesses a far better firing rate than the original Tyrant, along with providing a higher damage output. Unlike the original Tyrant, the Type-108 fires fuel rod torpedoes with a firing rate similar to the standard Wraith tank. Possessing an energy shield system for protection and an internalized reactor, the Type-108 is much harder to destroy than its original counter part was. However the Type-108's gunners can also control where the blast will go using magnetic fields and can easily track and overtake air targets, or hit enemy vessels. Unlike its younger cousin, the Super-Tyrant has four high rate Shrike turrets strategically placed to provide overlapping fields of fire against missiles or fighters that are assaulting the Type-108.
