- Candy Candy(キャンディ・キャンディ) is a Japanese novel, manga, and anime series. The main character, Candice "Candy" White Ardlay is a blonde American girl with freckles, large emerald green eyes and long, curly hair, worn in pigtails with bows. Candy Candy first appeared in a prose novel by famed Japanese writer Kyoko Mizuki in April 1975. When Mizuki joined forces with manga artist Yumiko Igarashi, the Japanese magazine Nakayoshi became interested in Candy Candy. The series was serialized as a manga series in the magazine for four years and won the 1st Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo in 1977. The story was adapted into an anime series by Toei animation. There are also several Candy Candy movies which were never released outside of Japan.[citation needed]

-Mmm. Tal vez haya vuelto a casa, ¿no crees? -Sí-dije dudoso.

- This Shojo series from the 1970s hooked up a whole generation of Japanese, Latin American and European girls. Both the anime and manga are now considered to be classics. The story is about the life and times of Candace "Candy" White, a beautiful blond girl growing up in the first two decades of the 20th century, through her adoption; her convoluted love life, first with sweet Anthony, who meets a tragic death, and then with rebellious Terry; her friends and enemies, and her final determination of being a capable and independent woman.
- She possesses fair skin, wide green eyes with a shade of blue, curly blond hair, and freckles. She is 13–16 years old throughout the series and is noted to be beautiful. She has her hair put into pigtails and seems to never have her hair in any other style. Her outer exterior is tomboyish, headstrong, and playful, often recklessly moving about a lot, riding horses in public, climbing trees with boys, and pigging herself out with food. A notable trait is that she excels in the art of lassoing, often using the rope to catch an enemy or helping an animal out of harm's way. Her inner exterior is compassionate and selfless, always looking on the bright side of things and hoping for a good outcome, as many of the people in her life have advised her. She one of the best people you could ever meet
