The Infected Pustules replace the Infected Water Towers from Prototype. When approached, they start to bulge, and if James Heller doesn't destroy them in time, a Brawler emerges from it. Due to the high concentrations of the virus, Heller will gain a significant boost in Evolution points when he destroys a pustule without causing it to release the Brawler. When he destroys the pustule, the Brawler within will be instantly killed.

  • The Infected Pustules replace the Infected Water Towers from Prototype. Alternatively, they can be left alone and they will generate an endless supply of brawlers when you approach them, which can greatly aid in evolving, as there is a chance that each Brawler will spawn with a Power Upgrade or DNA Bonus, if Heller hasn't fully evolved.
