abstract
  • Unlike what happens in the Land of Iron, the samurai of the Land of Mines does not have much political representation, which is in charge of the monks who reside in the Iron Temple. However, there was a rebel group of samurai who called Futabakai, who fought for a revolution in the country, followed by a civil war that would give the same powers as to the samurai as in the Land of Iron. On the other hand, the monks are very influential and respected in the country. While samurai are seen as more handyman or revolutionary, monks are seen as honorable, respectable and wise figures who patiently teach people to learn some of their techniques. Economically, the country is self supported with its plantations of barley and wheat, and large cattle landholdings. Mining is one of the main activities of the region, due to the large amount of caves rich in precious stones (hence comes the name of the region). Part of the extracted mineral is exported to the Land of Iron and the countries of the west. The first Kage Summit took place in the Land of Mines due to its security and neutrality mainly because the country had not (nor would have in the following years) shinobi villages or shinobi clans who wished to found a village.
