Listed below are the occurrences of Major League Baseball players who have hit three home runs in a single game. To date, there have been 246 occurrences in the National League, 233 in the American League, and 1 in the American Association, for a total of 480 by 336 different players. Twenty-nine players have hit three homers with more than one team. Kingman, Mize, and Alex Rodriguez have done it with three different teams. Johnny Mize and Sammy Sosa have accomplished the feat six different times. Dave Kingman, Joe Carter, Mark McGwire, and Carlos Delgado have done it five times. Only once has the feat occurred twice in the same game by two different players. On September 25, 2001, Richie Sexson and Jeromy Burnitz both hit three home runs for the Milwaukee Brewers in a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Twenty-nine players have hit three homers with more than one team. Kingman, Mize, and Alex Rodriguez have done it with three different teams.
