Joseph Smith Jr. , Born in Sharon, Vermont on December 23, 1805 to Joseph Smith Sr. and Lucy Mack, is the founder of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the first president. Many years ago, on a clear Spring Morning, he set out to pray to the lord in the Sacred Grove. He saw the father and the son, and it changed the rest of his life. He translated the Book of Mormon, led the saints to areas such as Kirtland Ohio, Far West and Independencd Missouri, and Nauvoo. He died a martyr on June, 27 1844.
