| - Project T.A.H.I.T.I. was a S.H.I.E.L.D. project ordered by Director Nick Fury and overseen by Agent Phil Coulson. It involved the harvesting of a unidentified alien corpse for medicinal purposes.
- Project T.A.H.I.T.I. (Terrestrialized Alien Host Integrative Tissue I.) was a S.H.I.E.L.D. project to address the need if an Avenger died and had to be resurrected. The project was conducted at the Guest House using matter from GH. The final chemical extracted was GH.325. Not including Coulson, they were six patients at T.A.H.I.T.I. It's unknown how each of these patients were selected, but it can be inferred from Janice Robbins and Hank Seaver that each patient was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and was selected because they were dead or dying and had no close family connections. It's unknown if each patient was a volunteer. In the first stage of the experiment, all of the patients seemed fine and were grateful for being chosen as test subjects. However, over time, the patients began having a negative reaction to GH. 325 and they all slowly became insane and began compulsively drawing the same symbols over and over again. At that time, Coulson wanted to shut down the project immediately, but the doctors assured him that the patients could live normal healthy lives if they had their memories replaced and were given new names and identities. Coulson was the supervisor of T.A.H.I.T.I. and in his final report to Fury Coulson informs Fury that he's resigning as head of the project as the side effects of the drug are too extreme and he could not in good conscious let the testing continue. Furthermore, Coulson recommended that these drugs and procedures never be administered to anyone ever again and T.A.H.I.T.I. be shut down. In Phil Coulson's case, they manipulated his memories to make him think he had spent his recovery on one of the islands in Tahiti. When doing the procedure, the heads of the project rewrote his responses to certain questions. For example, if someone were to ask, "How was Tahiti?" Due to the memory rewrite, the only response that Coulson would think would be "It's a magical place." However, Coulson became aware of this, for when he was being interrogated by Raina in "The Magical Place", he noticed that it was the only response he would give when asked that question, a conditioned reflex.
