Louie was, after all, stranded on an alien planet for who knows how long, maybe a month maybe two, and ventured deep into the Dream Den in search of treasure. If you read the description of Louie in the treasure hoard it explains how Louie always had a way with bugs, and seemed to be able to 'control' them, sort of hinting that he was not the captive of the Titan Dweevil. Thus, my opinion is that Louie lost a wee bit of his mind during his stay, and went and horded the best of treasures into his special cave. He mounted the four deadly weapon/treasures onto his big friend he had made, the Titan Dweevil, and remained sitting in the dark, on his spider, and amongst some very beneficial valuables. When Olimar arrived to 'save' him, Louie did not consider it as a blessing, and rather considered Olimar a foe. Once you fight your hardest and defeat his Dweevil, you are surprised to find that he remains motionless and dazed, so you carry him back to the surface and are perplexed about all that has happened. It is this perplexity that I presume has brought you to this little un-perplexifier of mine, and thus I hope that you are no longer perplexed.
