Steve Nichols (born February 20th in Salt Lake City, UT, USA) is a retired American engineer who worked for McLaren, Ferrari, Sauber and Jordan from 1980 to 2001, followed by a brief period with Jaguar in 2001. As chief engineer, Nichols is credited with the design of numerous high-profile Formula One cars, including the dominant 1988 championship winning McLaren MP4/4 and Ferrari's 1990 entry, the 641.
