  • Neovenatorids are a group of large carnivorous dinosaurs that are classified in the superfamily Allosauroidea, and are close relatives of the carcharodontosaurids. They first appeared in the Early Cretaceous and disappeared in the Late Cretaceous Period. Some members of this family had a variety of features, such as a crest on their nose and sickle-claws on their hands. The neovenatorids were the latest-surviving group of allosauroids and roamed through Europe, Asia and the Americas. The only neovenatorid to live at the end of the Mesozoic Era was Orkoraptor. Neoventorids varied in different sizes ranging from 6 to 40 feet in length (the biggest being Siats).

The Megaraptoran branch has recently been reconsidered to potentially be members of the superfamily Tyrannosauroidea instead, but is currently being held outside both the carnosaurs and coelurosaurs until it can be more definitively placed (it remains on this page at the moment for simplicity). Neovenatorids are all Wind Dinosaurs, even the larger ones (though the largest, Siats, isn't in Dinosaur King to know if it would be made Fire instead).
