He wasn't too bad in two others starts that year, finishing 20th at Hanford and 19th at Gardena. Caswell's next start came in the 1953 season, when he made a solo start at Rapid City. It was a tough race for Caswell, whose 14th place finish hid the fact that it was a tiny fifteen-car field. Caswell's final three starts all came in the 1954 season, when he returned to Oakland. In two starts at Oakland that year, Caswell struggled a bit, finishing a midpack 14th in the March event and a struggling 32nd in the August show. But Caswell recovered well in his final start, placing 9th at San Mateo.
