Asela was the Chiss wife of Trivas. She was not Force sensitive, but met Trivas after the death of his first wife, Ivexew. The two married in 16 ABY and had a daughter, Eliana, in 24 ABY. To protect their daughter from the warring Areltsi, they decided to send her to Sterex in secret. To cover for her absence, Trivas made false reports indicating that the convoy transporting her away from the battlefront was destroyed by the Areltsi.

When Jorell betrayed Trivas and took over the Nulvarl Empire in 25 ABY, he sent a message to Asela telling her that her husband had been wounded in battle. She came to Nulvar and was captured by Jorell. Jorell tortured her in hopes of learning where Trivas had escaped. Unfortunately for her, she did not know but Jorell thought she was lying. She spent a month in torture until she died after a session of extremely brutal torture. Jorell never thought to ask where Eliana was hidden because he believed her to be dead.
