Acrimeroceras is one of three genera included in the goniatitid subfamily Paratornoceratinae. The shell is subglobular and evolute on early growth stages becoming discoidal and and oxyconic (sharply rimmed), with a closed umbilicus in the adult. Paratornoceras, also in the Paraatornoceratinae is similar.
