abstract
  • On 11 February I added the following ten items: * Abyssal whip * Dragon boots * Rune armour set (lg) * Red chinchompa * Oak plank * Shark * Green dragonhide * Dragon bones * Cannonball * Dragonfire shield I removed the following six items: * Mithril ore * Law rune * Raw swordfish * Vial of water * Clean ranarr * Big bones I did this because the CTI was very resource-heavy, and the prices of resources have continued to inflate since the bot-busting. It got to a point where the CTI was not even close to being indicative of the market as a whole. I added four common equipment items, as well as something from Hunter, something from Ranged, a cooked food, something for high-level Crafting, something from Construction, and I replaced big bones with dragon bones because dragon bones were traded four times as much, and the index already had a free-to-play bias. I removed mithril ore, raw swordfish and law runes because each of them already had two other items in their category on the CTI. The same is true with Clean ranarr, but I chose that one because Snape grass was on the index, and I didn't want to double-count the effects of prayer potions. I also removed vial of water because it's a very odd item, and hasn't fluctuated significantly in two years. In all, it adds up to the first CTI change in more than four years, and one that I think will give it a more nuanced approximation of the market. ʞooɔ 22:22, February 12, 2012 (UTC) Edited for more accuracy.
