The Hovering Utility Vehicle, or HUV, was developed as a low-impact solution for transportation on planetary colonies and what few unspoiled regions of Earth remain. Known as a "huvvy" to the general public, these transport vehicles resemble the larger sport/utility vehicles they were based on, but run on a clean microfusion core. The repulsors that allow for the vehicle to maintain a consistent altitude of up to 30 meters off all but the roughest terrain can be manipulated by a skilled operator to achieve stunts that seem aeronautic, but this is not recommended as it will damage the repulsor coils and compensator shocks.

Aside from seeing civilian use across human civilization in an era where roads are no longer maintained (if they exist at all), the HUV sees extensive military use as a light armored transport.
