In 2364, Counselor Deanna Troi went to a psychology conference aboard Shuttle 13, piloted by Lieutenant Ben Prieto. The shuttle suffered an on-board systems failure and crashed on Vagra II while en route to a rendezvous with the Enterprise-D in the Zed Lapis sector. The shuttle was destroyed from orbit to prevent the malevolent entity Armus from escaping the planet. (TNG: "Skin of Evil" )

(TNG: "Skin of Evil" ) This was the first full build model of a shuttle in the run of The Next Generation. The aft area of the shuttle's exterior was slightly different than that seen on other type 7 shuttles, and appeared to have a large window or other panel.
