- Executive Director was a bureaucratic rank. Kem Tija held the rank of Executive Director of the Art Group of the Sector Monitor agency for the Sanbra sector, within the Coalition for Progress division of the Galactic Empire's Commission for the Preservation of the New Order.
- Executive Director was the title given to the president of Aratech Corporation. It was imposed by Jayar Keven, the first Director, in 55 ABY, and was used until Aratech's fall in 130 ABY. Though the proper title of the name was "the Director", the name often included the word 'the' as part of the title, as in "The Director". This common mispronunciation didn't originate from the Jayar Keven, but he let it run because it gave him an element of mystery. To further that superstition, he refused to be called Jayar, rather, he would only let himself be addressed by the Director. It was a tradition that was given up when Jayar's son, Jayven, took control of the Aratech.

- An Executive Director (ED) on Laboratory Wiki is an editor with the ultimate authority in all matters pertaining to the wiki. The main purposes of an ED are to resolve disputes that cannot be resolved by Managers or Supervisors, to aid and direct managers and supervisors in their respective roles, and to assist all editors in improving and expanding the wiki. The number of EDs on this wiki is dictated by the need for higher authorities, as governed by the number of disputes that cannot be handled by subordinates. Generally, one ED is sufficient, but editors may be promoted (from managerial or supervisory positions) as necessary. Promotions are at the discretion of the original ED (Eganio) and any subsequent appointees to the position.
