Here also lived his wife Joan Covenant and their son Roger Covenant until Joan left with Roger when he was diagnosed with leprosy. When Thomas was diagnosed his neighbors either side of his house complained and asked he moved, after he refused one moved out of the county. Thomas had a two roomed hut here dedicated entirely for writing his novel, and it is here that the first signs of leprosy were made manifest though Thomas did not notice the symptoms. There were also stables for Joan's horses. After his time on the Leprosarium he rearanges the house to minimise the risk of injury to himself moving anything dangerous into the guest room. He also locked up his hut and tkaes the fuses oout of the building so fire won't break out.
