  • Gerard is Ray and Robert's cousin. Prone to prolonged periods of hospitalization, "allergies and a poor sense of balance", Gerard is a rather negative person. First seen in season four episode "Cousin Gerard", there are notable physical and behavioural similarities to Raymond, much to the amusement of the rest of the Barone family. Alarmed by comparisons such as Gerard's "nasal, whiney voice", and their "heads being kind of the same shape", Ray endeavours to change his cousin's whole demeanour, instead of working on his own issues of insecurity. Gerard has poor social skills due to his depressive outlook, but does own and play an accordion, although his repertoire of musical numbers seems limited.
