The Weight Watching Instructor was the patronising leader of a group of slimmers who belonged to the club "Fatties Anonymous". Betty Turpin and Stan Ogden secretly joined the group to lose weight but Hilda Ogden got the wrong end of the stick and suspected the two were having an affair. The instructor spoke to her charges like children and sent Stan, the only man present, home when he was weighed and was shown to have gained two pounds. Hilda had tracked him down and, listening at the door to the hall where the group met, overheard him telling the instructor that he wanted to lose weight, "for his wife". Pleased and proud, she quietly left.
