"Is it just me, or are these Hollow we've been runnin' into lately more organized than they used to be?" One of the younger members of the Extermination Force said, shaking his head forcefully. The black-haired woman standing opposite him nodded her agreement. "I've never seen them like this before..." She sounded worried, and Hisagi couldn't really blame her. He himself hadn't seen Hollow this organized since the Winter War...

  • "Is it just me, or are these Hollow we've been runnin' into lately more organized than they used to be?" One of the younger members of the Extermination Force said, shaking his head forcefully. The black-haired woman standing opposite him nodded her agreement. "I've never seen them like this before..." She sounded worried, and Hisagi couldn't really blame her. He himself hadn't seen Hollow this organized since the Winter War... Memories of the event flooded his mind. His battle with the Arrancar Findor Carias, his defeat at the hands of the chimera-like creature Ayon, and his victory over his old Captain... To this day, he still did not understand what Tosen had been fighting for and he was beginning to think he never would. "How can one claim to walk the path with the least bloodshed, then ignite a war between Hueco Mundo and the Soul Society?" He didn't understand, so he did what he did so often now and pushed the question aside. His efforts were required elsewhere. Galath Tristan, a tall young man with long, flowing silver hair and muscular physique cleaned his blade of blood. It was a Bakkōtō; a weapon highly illegal within Soul Society itself, but it allowed him to fight as a Shinigami would. He wiped his brow and nodded across at Hisagi before walking forward. He still wore the blindfold that obscured his vision. "Another batch found, bound and killed. Sorry, couldn't think of another rhyme." He smiled and surveyed the dunes all around. "Explain to me why I followed you again?" Galath was a human. But not any ordinary human. He could see spiritual activity for one, and has his own special powers that Hisagi couldn't help but compare to both Chad and Oriheme. And his Bakkōtō slowed down the aging process by such a degree, that Galath had only aged a month or two since gaining it a number of years ago. "Were to now, Hisagi?" He asked and although blind, he moved as well as anyone who could see perfectly. "Why do you wear that blindfold, Galath?" One of the others said as he done a few squats to keep his body warm. A cold air was settling in. "Your eyes are deceitful. I do not trust them." He said, for once sounding incredibly serious. "... Besides, I need to do something to allow you all to keep up with me. I killed fourteen in that last skirmish." Their lack of response only made him smile all the more. "We will keep moving and find a place to set up camp." Hisagi said quickly, with a slight grin. He knew his companions well, but trusted few as strongly as he did Galath. "Move out." They obeyed him quickly and without hesitation. Galath nodded and followed, unhindered by his blindness. He was quite good at feeling the spiritual energy around him and used a means similar to sonar to discern his location and the location of others. Galath shunpo'd by Hisagi's side until they found a solid piece of rock with a hollowed out center in the shade of several skeletal trees who branches looked like long, slender fingers pointing to the sky above. "... Why does this place always give me the creeps?" He remarked before sitting himself down just outside. They'd made the hollowed out portion of the rock themselves and placed several powerful Kidō barriers around it to deter nearby hollow. The hollowed out section was actually an entrance to some underground caverns which had been previously cleared and now used by the group whenever possible. Hisagi kept his eyes on the horizon. "... Somethings wrong." He said finally. "They've been gone too long." The oldest member of the group, with more than a little gray in his hair walked forward and nodded. "Aye, they have at that." He checked the position of the moon and sighed. "... Too long indeed. Shall we send out scouts, Hisagi?" Galath rose and tutted. "Told ya you should've sent me along. But don't worry, eh? Ol' Ashido was surviving on his own long before we showed up, ya know. Imagine his chances with allies to help him." But then, that might be exactly the problem. He may be too used to fighting alone and not know when to accept help or provide it himself. "Okay!" Galath said cracking his muscles. "I'm going after them. I'll be back before ya know it."
