Zama (座間市) was a city located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The city was settled for thousands of years. It soon became a small town status in 1927, and then became city status by 1941. In 1955, it merged with Yamato, Kanagawa and became a district of Yamato, Kanagawa as well.
