The S370 was introduced as a more affordable version of the S540 with Japanese made pickups instead of IBZ/USA pickups, but did have all the standard features of an S model with a sleek mahogany body, maple neck and a Lo-Pro Edge tremolo. The S470 is a very similar model which was sold outside of Japan. This S370 was discontinued after 1998, but a Korean-made version was produced a few years later, starting in 2001.
