Synopsis
  • Arriving home at her apartment, Lois Lane opens the door to be greeted by a violent burst of flame. Still in Metropolis Harbor with Big Words after plummeting from orbit, Superman hears Lois cry out. In his monstrous new form, the Man of Steel meets her in the alley. Meanwhile, the Underworlders emerge from the sewer to track a Project Cadmus truck. Inside, they find a heavily restrained man, whom they free. The thankless Parasite immediately absorbs their energy, killing them all. Hungry for more power, he tracks down Superman, who is still with Lois. A deranged and dying Lex Luthor orders Dr. Kelley to find a cure for his condition. The disgusted doctor refuses and leaves. Luthor then threatens to kill Happersen since he is the only person who knows that Luthor is a clone. Happersen saves his skin by naming Packard as another in on the secret. Taking the fight to the moon, Superman lays into Parasite, but only makes him stronger. The hulking villain throws the Man of Steel back to Earth, where he lays unmoving -- but back to his normal form.
