Arthur Gunn (c.1836-1910) was an accountant who worked for the Metropolitan Board of Works and London County Council. Gunn was a clerk at HM Treasury in 1869 when he took over the position of Chief Accountant to the Metropolitan Board of Works. He inherited a chaotic situation, his predecessor having been dismissed due to large discrepancies in the board's accounts and unsuccessfully prosecuted for embezzlement. Gunn remained chief accountant for the rest of the MBW's existence and was seen as having turned the finances of the organisation around, receiving praise from the royal commission appointed to investigate allegations of corruption at the board.
