  • The Traditionalist Party was initially founded during the 18th century in the Kingdom of Westland, and was then known as the 'Tradition Party.' At that time it was the only political party following the initial establishment of the Parliament of Westland in the 1760's slowly limiting the power of the Kingdom's Absolute Monarch and beginning the state's transition into a Constitutional Monarchy system of government. The Tradition Party was the only organised political party in Westland until the start of the 18th century with the establishment of the Royalist Party in 1803. The party became known as the Traditionalists after 1810 and stayed in power for much of the 19th century until its power became challenged in the late 19th century by the newly formed and popular Socialist Party which eventually gained power in the early 20th century and began the transition of the Kingdom into a Socialist State by 1923. The Traditionalist Party was initially outlawed until 1929 when the party reformed and attempted to contest elections before being barred from the approved list of political organisations that were permitted to participate. Despite this, the Traditionalist Party became the main opposition organisation the Socialist system in Westland and have undertaken many protests against Westland's political system. They have been labelled 'traitors' and 'criminal capitalists' by the Westlandic government, media and majority of the populace and members or those associated with the party face political and social discrimination. In 2005, a group of Traditionalist Party Right-wing radicals and religious fundamentalists broke off and formed the group Glorrikvahat. The group was later revealed to be behind the 2010 Brikkstö Bombings. Suspicions over the legitimacy and the danger that the Traditionalist Party posed to Westlandic society were raised by the government's Public Security Ministry and the government has notably clamped further down on the party's operations.
