His All Holiness Callinicus III was Patriarch of Constantinople in the eighteenth century and has the distinction of being patriarch for less than a day. Little is known of the life of Callinicus. He was the Bishop of Heracleia with great ambitions to be patriarch. He is reputed to have used any means to become patriarch, including trying unsuccessfully many times to seize the throne.
