Synopsis
  • While DeSaad celebrates the apparent death of Darkseid, Eradicator, Superboy, Supergirl, and Steel continue their search for Superman. They arrive at the Tribune's planet. Aboard Freelance's ship, Superman is concerned about Mope's injuries. Along with Leeya, they arrive on Haven. There, the Gatekeeper, they are directed to the mysterious Tolos, who may be Mope's only hope for recovery. Back on Earth, Lex Luthor and the Joker are trapped by Neron in something similar to a snow globe. Tolos agrees to heal Mope for an unspecified price. After the work is done, Tolos reveals himself to be an ectoplasmic being capable of changing bodies. He attempts to siphon the Man of Steel's great power. While struggling against this unexpected foe, Superman notices that a bottle city in Tolos' lab is actually inhabited. The hero overcomes his new foe only by threatening its destruction, at which point Tolos' ectoplasmic form vanishes along with the city. On the Tribunal world, the Superman Rescue Squad, minus the suspiciously absent Alpha Centurion, are attacked and defeated by the Cyborg.
