He received his first minor movie role in BlĂ„jackor (1945). His voice credits included the Disney movies Robin Hood (as Prince John), The Aristocats (as Edgar), and The Sword in the Stone (as Sir Ector). He was married to the Swedish actress Meta Velander. He continued to work until he was around 90 years old.
