  • Then, in early 18 BBY, clone trooper forces landed on the remote agrarian world where he was stationed. The Jedi Order had already been pushed to the brink of extinction, but Ajaur didn’t know that. All he knew was that white-armored soldiers were killing everyone they could find. Rallying the fellow AgriCorps workers, many of them less than sixteen years of age, they attacked the clones with whatever weapons they could find, including lightsabers from fallen Jedi overseers. Ajaur personally ran amok with an armored crop harvester, mowing down clones like grain, but eventually had to abandon the vehicle for a scavenged lightsaber. The clone force suffered heavy casualties until Darth Vader arrived from dealing with a pair of Jedi Knights. The Sith Lord easily cut down any other AgriCorps workers who stood in his way, but Ajaur, full of rage, charged him anyway. Vader toyed with him, inflicting several glancing wounds on the farmboy. Ajaur called on the dark side of the Force and pushed Vader to the ground, but before he could land a killing blow, Vader slashed him across the throat and face, bringing Ajaur to his knees. However, sensing the dark side was already in Ajaur, Vader spared his life but left him humiliated and burning with hatred. Instead, Ajaur became part of the Inquisitorius, a dedicated group of Force-sensitives devoted to torture and the extermination of any trace of the Jedi. Ajaur was trained on the ancient world of Dromund Kaas under the sadistic tutelage of a Prophet of the Dark Side named Theros. Theros treated his pupil cruelly, deriding him for his lack of innate insight. Nevertheless, Ajaur survived and entered Imperial service. He served Vader, following his orders, but he burned with a lust for vengeance towards the Sith. If an opportunity had presented itself, he would have killed Vader without a second thought. In 16 BBY, Ajaur was assigned to use the Star Destroyer Corrupter as a mobile headquarters for hunting down Force-sensitives. While he did not get along with the ship’s master, Captain Nebulax, Ajaur made sure the captain understood that he was in command, not the officer. When the Corrupter boarded a small freighter for a routine inspection in the Zhar system, Ajaur was irate and demanded an explanation from Nebulax. He was about to dismiss the matter when he sensed an unusual amount of fear from the freighter crew. Heading down to the hangar, he began to interrogate the captain, cruelly beating him. Just as Ajaur started to threaten a female member of the crew, he realized that the captain was a Jedi Knight. The freighter jettisoned an escape pod laden with explosives into the hangar, knocking Ajaur over. The freighter was able to escape in the resulting explosion and chaos and Ajaur was severely injured, losing an eye and earning several severe scars. He was treated on the Corrupter and immediately sought to hunt down the freighter and its Jedi leader. However, Vader had another mission for him, and he had no choice but to comply. He unhappily carried out his mission, scything through a colony of Force-sensitive Jensaarai on Susefvi with relative ease. They were little match for him, and he knew it. Once Susefvi was subjugated and the Jensaarai destroyed, Ajaur received permission to return to the hunt for the Jedi who had wounded him. Realizing that the trail had long since grown cold, he set out for Dromund Kaas alone to seek the help of Theros, who had considerable foresight. His former mentor spurned him, destroying his lightsaber and wounding Ajaur with the Force before casting him out into the wilds. Roaming through the trackless swamps of Dromund Kaas, Ajaur found a hidden cave devoted to an ancient Sith Lord named Revan. There, he learned of the Sith Code and the power in its words. He also found a lightsaber as well as a technique for concealing himself in the Force. After resting and learning from the cave, Ajaur buried its entrance and returned to the fortress where Theros was. Approaching the prophet discreetly, Ajaur declared that he would no longer be subservient to Theros. The two clashed and Ajaur was victorious. He compelled Theros to share his insight and the prophet revealed that Ajaur would indeed find the Jedi—of whom now there were five—but that if he failed, they would create a light not easily extinguished. Theros also revealed that Ajaur would need to find and kill the woman he had threatened earlier, as she was the Jedi's weakness as well as a Jedi herself. Having learned what he needed and defeated his former mentor, Ajaur departed Dromund Kaas and returned to the Corrupter after brutally maiming Theros. Not long afterward, a garrison commander on Darlyn Boda signaled the Corrupter, informing them of the presence of Jedi Knights on the planet. As the Corrupter approached the world, Ajaur felt their power and ordered Nebulax to encircle their camp with ground forces in an all-out assault instead of orbital bombardment, as it was possible some of the Jedi might escape before the turbolaser strike landed. Ajaur personally accompanied the assault, but was surprised to find that the people he was attacking weren’t Jedi, though they were Force-sensitive Matukai. By the time he reached their compound, the Imperial attack was faltering in the face of stiff resistance, but Ajaur quickly changed all that. He and his hand-picked stormtrooper contingent broke through the Matukai lines, cutting down all in their path. Ajaur personally slew the Matukai leader, but found himself challenged by the female Jedi he sought, Milya Tayrce. They dueled briefly, but the arrival of a scout ship friendly to the Matukai delayed Ajaur enough to allow Tayrce and some of the Matukai to escape. The ship was shot down, but many of the Imperial forces were needed to reclaim a stolen Imperial ship that had been seized by insurgents. Ajaur reached the scout ship but found it abandoned aside from an Imperial lieutenant, Almos Terthbak, who had been held by the Jedi. He continued his pursuit of the fugitives, but their leader, Selu Kraen, was hiding them in the Force. The next night, they attacked the Imperial troops at the lakeside spaceport, escaping on a ship. Ajaur took a speeder bike and a contingent of troopers to counter-attack, but well-placed explosive charges destroyed the bridge and sent him into the water, temporarily short-circuiting his lightsaber. He could only glare malevolently at Selu, the Jedi whom he had beaten earlier, as the Jedi and Matukai escaped. Joining up with the insurgents, they were able to escape on the stolen Imperial warship, the Griffin. Ajaur interrogated Almos Terthbak thoroughly, killing him, as the Corrupter effected repairs. When other Imperial prisoners were recovered from Anoat where they had been abandoned from the Griffin, they were brought to the Corrupter. Ajaur planned to interrogate them just as he had Terthbak, starting with an Imperial Intelligence analyst named Roxana Taskien. However, Nebulax, who had learned from Imperial High Command of Ajaur's attack on Theros and was disturbed that the Inquisitor planned on torturing Imperial servicemembers, intervened. He found Ajaur in the process of interrogating Taskien just as the ship's executive officer, Lieutenant Convarion, informed him that an Imperial agent on Commenor had uncovered the identity of the Jedi he was pursuing, as well as his family connections on Commenor. Ajaur was able to persuade Nebulax to allow him to go to Commenor, playing on the captain's desire for vengeance on the Jedi who had damaged his ship and killed his crew. Ajaur was transferred to a shuttle with a small guard, which he easily overpowered and took to Commenor. Upon arrival, Ajaur made contact with the Imperial Intelligence agent, Agent Norres, who had discovered the link between the fugitive Jedi and this particular family. Furthermore, Norres provided the Inquisitor with a location where the Kraen family and some of their friends who were involved in the cover up would be: a wedding. As the Imperials planned, Norres disrupted the wedding by brazenly walking in, but his actions had been anticipated-several Jedi appeared including Selu and Milya, as well as several insurgents, who were armed and waiting to fend off the Imperial forces. As soon as the Jedi revealed themselves, Ajaur leaped through a sizable stained glass window and began battling Selu. Throughout their prolonged duel, though, Ajaur could not seem to get the upper hand. Deciding to weaken his opponent by attacking one of his comrades, Ajaur leaped down to attack Milya, hoping to catch her by surprise. However, Selu noticed his move and threw a lightsaber after him. The whirling blade injured Ajaur, allowing Milya to hold him off. A TIE bomber attack launched by Captain Nebulax, who had followed them to Commenor, severely damaged the building. Seeing Selu distracted by using the Force to keep the rubble off of his friends, Ajaur approached him, savoring the kill. However, Milya recovered and threw her vibroblade at him, wounding him severely. He collapsed to the floor of the wedding hall. He was not slain, though it took him several minutes to gather up enough dark side power to rise again. He pulled himself to his feet to attack Milya again. He attacked her with own vibroblade, but was stopped from inflicting a fatal wound by Selu. Before he could strike anyone else, a former clone trooper allied with the Jedi gunned him down, ending Ajaur’s tenure as an Inquisitor and Dark Jedi.
